A Planned Activity with STI College Agape Campus Ministry!

Just this afternoon, during our activity time, I had a meeting  with the members of the Agape Campus Ministry of STI College General Santos City, Philippines. I’ve been coordinating with this campus ministry for three years now. And it’s a great fulfillment for the ministry to see students inclined in this kind of a fellowship.

I tackled about the upcoming schedule on December 11 for the joint activity of all the STI College Clubs. This activity is about the eighty children from the Habitat Elementary School in New Mabuhay, whose passion to go to school is barred by the wants and needs unmet because of financial lack. These children were from Grade 1 up to Grade 3.  They were chosen at random. The families of these children were actually relocated from different places that are slum areas.

Part of the program will be feeding these children and introducing them to the basic usage of computers. There will also be parlor games to entertain the children and Biblical story telling for them to absorb spiritual learning. And of course the STI College  medical  team who plans to invite medical authorities for some medical activities.

I assigned four students who will narrate Biblical stories to the children. They will also teach the children some songs with actions based from spiritual values. After narrating the stories and teaching of songs, the members and officers of the STI College Agape Campus Ministry will pray for the children and so with their respective families.

We had also discussed in our meeting about the tentative schedule of the college days starting January 30 – February 5, 2011. The group planned about some items to be sold with the logo of the STI College Agape Campus Ministry. Some of the items agreed upon by the members were: t-shirts printed with the Agape Campus Ministry logo,  Bags with logo, pins with logo, and stickers.

The group also planned of showing some selected movies and playing some Christian songs. Though, it was yet a month from now, we have to prepare earlier because the group will still have to look for some things needed for the said items to be sold during the college days. Indeed, the Lord is ever good and faithful! He made everything possible for those whose heart is with Him. To God be the Glory!
