Our Service with God!

The Bible challenges us to believe in our heart and confess with our mouth. The promise was expressed by Jesus Christ in John 3:16 when He said that God so loved this world that He sent His only Son as a sacrifice to take away the sins of the world, including yours and mine.

God has designed that this world would have an enduring witness. People who reflect the person and presence of the Lord Jesus Christ to others. He wants to live through each of us in such a way that others are also challenged to live for Him and changed the world. Perhaps your commission will be to take this message of the gospel to the people you come in contact with if they are not believers.

Our world is dying spiritually! We need a change! Change that will turn the world upside down . . . change that will make a great difference in this modern world full of perversion. And making a difference should start from  us . . . and from us to others! We cannot disciple others not unless we have knowledge on how to. The world is on great chaos in terms of all sorts of perversion; choices in life, global modernity, beliefs, principles, outlook in life, and / or priority.

That’s why we are here! We are suppose to be the instruments in making a great change in this world. We are the salt of the earth . . . We are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:13-14); “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19) . . .  This is part of our great commission.

God has promised that He will be with us in all our ways . . . Too many of us are creeping through life with extreme caution on the promises of God! We are afraid and fearful that what God has promised might not be sufficient for our need. We step out in faith, lightly. The promises of God are not fragile and about to cave in with you standing on top of them.

We look up to God . . .  We pray . . . and about halfway across we stop because we thought we are getting further the reality. We always want an immediate answer. We just can’t wait! The virtue of patience, endurance and perseverance has partially grown into our lives.

Man has built many pillars to support his little world and to keep things from falling in on him. Often they seem strong and are able to stand the stress of time. But often they are just as useless as one article I’ve read about an author’s false columns. Others have erected pillars of intellectualism, money, pleasure, or philosophy.

Some have constructed pillars of religion, beautiful and structure and they seem strong enough. But religion is totally meaningless without the person of Jesus. Pillars of religion are free standing without Christ and have no hold on eternity. Could anything be more useless?  Will your life become a monument to nothing?  Right decisions will play a very important part in how useful your life will be . . . how meaningful your life can become. I want my life to count for something. How about you?

Why are we here? To become part of the family of God and to share the good news that it is possible for others to also become part of God’s family. This is the family relationship that lasts for eternity!  According to Corrie Ten Boom: “It is worth living and dying if we are being used to save others for eternity. You and I can be used, whoever we are.”

Our service with God is our best career . . .
